Yellow flags and the pigskin are thrown around every Sunday and, the Monday night showdowns are back as the NFL kicks-off. Well if you're like me and a whole other set of sports fans this can be a huge milestone. The NBA is about a month away from the pre-season starting and eventually the regular season!
Spring Cleaning in September?
Let's dust the cobwebs off and revise of what a slow last two months of the NBA off-season has brought upon us. The Carmelo Anthony rumors died down but just this week have arose again with the Denver front showing some promise in trading the All-Star Forward. On the Magic front they have announced the signing of Malik Allen to a non-guaranteed contract which means, he's probably unlikely to make the team after training camp. While the Magic are in preparations to open training camp next Tuesday, the organization's new Amway Center is also almost set for their grand opening on October 1st, 2010. This event is open to ALL fans and gets under way at 9:30 am. I encourage all fans to attend and witness the ribbon cutting at 10:01 am by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.
The occasional Magic media day will be next Monday, September 27 and the rest of the week will conclude with training camp. The Magic open out their pre-season play in Houston October 5th; Tip-off is 8:30 pm EST.
