According to latest reports Chris Paul is demanding a trade out of New Orleans. Reports quote an unnamed person suggesting that "he wants to play with another superstar".
"He wants out," said the person, who has been briefed on Paul's strategy but spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it publicly. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron's model of teaming up with other great players."-Per this report
So, where does the Magic become invovled in all this?
"Paul's list of preferred destinations consists of the Knicks, Magic and Lakers, and members of his inner circle already have sent word to the Hornets of his desire to be traded to one of those teams, sources say".
While the New York Knicks have young talent to send over their biggest appeal is being able to take on Emeka Okafor or James Posey's contract. The Lakers aren't reluctant to give up Bynum or Odom which opens the door for the Magic.
With speculation in the air and Otis Smith already going after Paul last month; this re-ignites the CP3 in a Magic jersey flame. Here are a few ideas for Magic fans to ponder on.
-Contract wise the Hornets want young talent in return to clear up cap space. Vince Carter has an expiring contract and Jameer Nelson's contract is much cheaper than that of Paul's. These are the two players speculated in exchange for Paul.
-The Magic might have to take on some extra baggage or try to get a third team involved in order to satisfy New Orleans moving Okafor or Posey.
-Depending on how New Orleans looks at Gortat he could be thrown in the mix.
Again these ideas aren't reported as legit offers but some of the few that are possibilities.
What are your thoughts Magic fans?
